Hello everyone from SfØ or otherwise! Welcome to my brand new blog on my life, my thoughts and on SfØ.
Anyway, on to today's first topic: Task Creation
I create a lot of tasks in my head. Now I'm getting them out of my head and sharing them.
Every few weeks or so I will post a new poll about which task you like the best. Then I will submit the best few and hope they become actual tasks.
Next Topic: what I've been doing over the last few days (this may take a while)
January 26th is Australia Day, and absolutely nothing happened at my house. It so happens that every year, my dad holds a big Australia Day party. This year he held it on the day after Australia Day. As a tradition, I always mix cocktails that about 4 people drink during the night. I very rarely drink alcohol unless it's in a cocktail, but I normally don't drink much then anyway.
I work at The Old Cable Station, a restaurant at the back of the Stanley. It's pretty small but it's really high quality food (normally $44 AUS for 2 courses, $55 for 3). My boss, Charlotte, had planned a big Moroccan Lunch on the same day as the party, but if I was going to work there it would be okay as the lunch finished at 4, the party began at 5.
In the days leading up to the 27th I hadn't heard anything from Charlotte, asuming I was not, in fact, working. The 26th came around. That day, I slept in to 1'o'clock. I'd wound by body clock forward quite a bit, subsequently I found it incredibly hard to sleep that night. So hard that I didn't sleep. At all. It got to about 6o'clock and I thought "screw it. I'm too hungry to go to sleep now." Had breakfast. Stayed awake.
At 8'o'clock the phone rang. It was Charlotte, wanting me to work today and apologising for not calling earlier. I would start at 10. Well! I had to accept.
To cut a potentially prolix story, I ended up working as a kitchen hand for 6 hours (we went until 5'o'clock). I actually found it really easy to stay awake and active. During the Lunch, some belly dancers came to perform for the guests. It was fantastic. Myself and the chef we're looking out the kitchen window into the restaurant to watch the show. They were excellent. Apparently they only wanted $100 to perform. They got given a bit more by Charlotte, who thought that they should be charging more.
After my shift, I had a shower and got changed for the party. When I went over to the party, I got told that one of the guests at the lunch, Louise, had convinced+paid the belly dancers to perform for Dad, Kristen and all the guests. When the belly dancers got there, there were only 6 guests. They left before I arrived, but at least the guests had enjoyed themselves.
Made Cocktails. Had Little Fun. Went Home.
Finally went to bed (with the aid of these Rescue Sleep drops) at 12'o'clock, nearly 36 hours since I had been asleep last.
